Privacy policy
I keep this simple. I only collect what I need to send you the Letter, run the membership and reply to you. I never sell your data.
Who I am
This site is run by Andy Hillocks through Form Media Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13450299), registered address 3 Fairlight Close, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, TN4 0TG. I'm the data controller for the personal information described here. If you have any questions, email me at info@andyhillocks.com.
What I collect, and why
When you sign up for the Letter. Your first name (optional) and email address, so I can send you the Letter. I do this with your consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
When you join Daydreamers. Your name, email address and the details you give at checkout, so I can give you access to the community and manage your membership. Payments are handled by Circle and Stripe. I never see or store your full card details. The lawful basis is the contract between us.
When you book a call or get in touch. Whatever you choose to tell me, so I can reply and help. The lawful basis is my legitimate interest in running my business and answering you.
When you visit the site. Like most websites, the hosting provider records basic technical information (such as your IP address and browser) to keep the site running and secure. Some fonts load from Google Fonts, which means your browser asks Google's servers for them and shares your IP address with Google.
Who I share it with
I use a small number of trusted services to run things. They only process your information to provide their service to me:
- Kit, to send the Letter
- Circle, to host the community and take membership sign-ups
- Stripe, to process payments
- My website host, to serve this site
- Google Fonts, to load some of the fonts on this site
Some of these services are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where your information is transferred abroad, it's protected by approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or addendum, or the UK–US data bridge.
How long I keep it
- Letter subscribers: until you unsubscribe
- Members: for as long as you're a member, then as long as I need to for tax and accounting, usually six years
- Messages: for as long as needed to help you, then deleted
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you can ask to see the information I hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit how I use it, object to how I use it, or receive a copy to take elsewhere. Where I rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email me at info@andyhillocks.com and I'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. I'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
